Installing and Using the Corps Printer

Quick Tip!

Be careful: the printer password prompt is fussy. Typing in the wrong username/password combination will lock up the system, and the computer will need to be restarted before the prompt will appear for another credentials prompt!

Helpful Staff for this Topic

The Digital Corps printer is, unfortunately, not able to be installed by default on Corps computers. To use it, students must download the printer drivers and run the setup process before the printer will be available. The printer can be installed on personal Mac laptops as well.

Installation and setup on Windows computers is possible, but is officially “unsupported.” See a staff for help if needed.

Installing the Printer

After downloading, the printer installer will show up in Finder inside of a disk called “Popup” (very descriptive…). Once inside the Popup disk, double click the Popup.pkg file to start the installer.

How’s that for some quality UX?

Using the Printer

After installation is complete, two printer options will be available in the Print dialog box: one for color prints and one for black and white (the default).

Choose the desired printer.

Before the file is sent to the printer, a Username and Password prompt will appear, asking for a BSU username (without the @bsu.edu) and password. A full BSU email is considered invalid and will cause the sign in process to fail.

The printing process can be initiated by swiping the printee’s BSU ID in the printer’s card reader and then using the on screen controls to select document(s) to print.

Quick Tip!

Reminder, the Digital Corps printer should only be used for Corps-related printing. Class materials/presentations/notes should be printed through the BSU PrintSmart system to save Corps resources.
