Mario and Luigi

Working off of the server allows for collaboration on the same project.
Mario and Luigi are the names of the servers we use at the Corps. These servers are used primarily by the Video Team. There are a few different ways to access these servers whether you are in the office or working remotely.
Luigi is used most often and where new projects are stored. It also allows the Video Team to work collaboratively. Mario has projects that we do not use as frequently.
After you go on a shoot, make sure to store your footage in the designated project folder on the server so everyone has access to it.
Project files are also stored on the server so many different people can edit the same project. Make sure files are stored on the server and not on your desktop to avoid missing assets from your timeline.
Wired Connection to the Server
Video Island has network cables that provide access to the server.
- Plug a network cable into your laptop and open the Finder application.
- Use the login information found in the #general-video channel in Slack to log in and connect to the server.
- You can choose which server you need to access in Finder.
Connecting Wirelessly in the Office
Here are the steps to connect without a network cable in the office.
- Open the Finder application
- Click Go from the menu bar at the top of your computer.
- Click on Connect to Server from the bottom of the menu.
- Enter the server address from the #general-video channel on Slack.
- Login information for the server is also available in #general-video.
- After you log in, access the servers through Finder.
Connecting Remotely
- Install the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. This can be found pinned in the #general-video channel.
- After you install the VPN, open the application and connect to the Ball State VPN. Use your Ball State username and password to sign in.
- Check the Duo Mobile app for two-step authentication.
- Connect to the IP address found in #general-video. The login information can be found there also.
- After you log in, choose which server you want to access.
